A hand printed linoleum print of Gryla the Winter Witch and her Yule Cat, printed on unryu rice paper and light blue paper.
Gryla is a monstrous entity who lives in the Icelandic wilderness. It is said that she has a troll-like appearance, and demands charity from those that she meets in the winter months, and she is known to collect and eat those children who do not pass her charity test. More modernly she is known as the mother of the Yule Lads.
Her familiar, the Yule Cat, is a huge and vicious creature who eats those who do not receive new clothes before Christmas Eve.
Celebrate the holidays this season with some non-traditional decor of a very traditional story!
